As the research assistant working on a grant from the Gordon and Betty Moore foundation, I collected data on and modeled the environmental impacts of China's $1.3 billion investment in the Chancay megaport. This work is done under the supervision of Professors John Rogan and Denise Humphreys Bebbington.
As the course assistant for GIS & Land Change Models, I assisted students with comprehension of concepts and assignments during office hours. I also helped grade assignments for the 33 students in the course.
As one of the Graduate Student Managers for the Human Environmental Regional Observatory, I facilitated data collection, analysis, and the presentation of trees planted as part of the Greening the Gateway Cities Program in Holyoke and Chelsea. This culminated in a presentation and report to the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation.
As a research assistant working with mangrove cover in the Coastal Region of Ecuador, I prepared a report and presentation on the development of mangroves and aquaculture across five time points. This project was completed under the supervision of Professors Sangermano and Rogan for Cámara Nacional de Acuacultura in Ecuador.
As the peer learning assistant for GIS & Land Change Models, I assisted students with comprehension of concepts and assignments during office hours. I also helped to write exam questions.
As an undergraduate fellow in the Human Environmental Regional Observatory, I participated in data collection, analysis, and presentation of a report on the status of the replanting effort in Worcester, MA following the Longhorned Beetle infestation, which led to the cutting of over 25,000 trees from 2008–2009.
As an undergraduate fellow with the Peter J. Condakes fellowship, I collaborated with consulting agencies and a governing organization on research concerning REDD projects.
